Under 16 nights: €55 studio / €75 apartment. Staying 16 nights or more? Write to us — we'll agree your special winter rate together, the friendly way.

December – February

The winter offer, in plain numbers.

Two things change at Ibiscus in winter: the price stops being nightly, and the island becomes yours. These are starting points — for any stay over 16 nights we settle the number together.

What's actually open in winter

Winter is the island's quiet season — in Massouri most tourist businesses close, and that is exactly its charm. A handful of tavernas and cafés keep serving locals through the winter; which ones varies by year — a short stroll through the village will show you what's open.

Real island life moves to Pothia, about 25 minutes away — the year-round capital, where bakeries, butchers, pharmacies and shops stay open all winter.

Groceries are never a problem: Pothia's supermarkets work all year round, and with a full kitchen in your villa you are self-sufficient from day one.

The island stays connected through winter: Piraeus ferries several times a week and regular Kos boats — and from Kos airport, Athens flights are a short crossing away.

A few cafés keep their espresso machines running through the winter — quiet, local, and happy to let you sit for hours.

Remote work reality check

Starlink is our stable internet across the property — excellent in the open and common areas today; in-room coverage for every villa is being completed by the end of this season.
If Starlink ever drops, the fixed line takes over as backup.
No scheduled blackouts. UPS on the routers.
A/C works both ways — heats in winter, cools in summer.

Three winter months, three different islands

December

The quietest of the season. Mild most days until Christmas, the sea still around 17°C. For closing out the year, writing, or doing nothing at all.

January

The island's most inward month. There are rainy days, but when they clear the light is the sharpest of the year. A month for long walks and deep work.

February

Spring arrives early: almond trees blossom, the rock dries out, the first climbers appear. Winter's calm with spring's light.

Workation FAQ

What if the internet goes down?+

Starlink rarely drops — winter storms are the only real risk. If it does, the fixed line takes over as backup. We hand you the Wi-Fi details at check-in.

Is there a coworking space?+

The best desk on the island is honestly your own villa: a quiet corner of your own, fast internet and zero distractions — a perfect chance to give your work or your project your full focus. When you fancy a change of scene, the cafés in central Massouri and Pothia are laptop-friendly through the winter; order a coffee, settle in for hours, and get to know new people along the way. You can also find the island's other remote workers through social media groups — winter Kalymnos is a small but warm community.

Is the villa warm enough?+

Yes — every villa has two-way A/C: it heats in winter and cools in summer. Kalymnos winters are mild, but evenings can be crisp, so pack proper warm winter layers — a thick jumper is the best companion for an evening walk by the sea.
